The City Food Lecture is delighted that Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal will join the City Food Lecture virtually this year with a live address.
The Princess Royal , as a Past Prime Warden of the Fishmongers and Past Master of both Farmers and Butchers’ is a staunch supporter of the City Food Lecture and in the recent past has been the highlight of the event with her thoughtful and insightful reflections on the Lecture as well as her sage words of considered advice. We very much look forward to her closing address.

The City Food Lecture, now in its 21st year is an annual, invitation-only high-profile fixture in the City of London and international food industry calendars. The Lecture is delivered every year by a leading figure in the food business who is invited to speak about the issues they regard as most important in shaping the way food is produced, distributed, marketed, sold and consumed.
We are delighted to be back in Guildhall, London to present the City Food Lecture 2022. Following on from the success of the 2021 virtual event, we will also be streaming live to an international virtual audience
The 2022 Key Note Speaker
We are pleased to announce that our Key Note Speaker for the City Food Lecture 2022 will be Mr Liam Condon who serves as a member of the Bayer AG Board of Management and as President of the Crop Science division of Bayer. Based in Monheim, Germany, Condon drives the vision for Crop Science and leads the business to shape agriculture responsibly, bringing innovation and sustainability to the forefront. His lecture will provide interesting debate and comment.
We look forward to an extremely topical and lively address.
Following the lecture, there will be an interactive Question-and-Answer session with a panel of food industry specialists: Richard Clothier – Managing Director of Wyke Farms. Frazer McKevit – Head of Retail & Consumer Insight at Kantar World Panel.Kate Nicholls, CEO for UKHospitality. (UKH) – the authoritative voice for over 730 companies operating around 85,000 venues in a sector that employed 3.2 million people prior to COVID. Charlotte Smith is our panel chair – she is well known for her role as presenter on BBC1’s Countryfile and on Radio 4’s Farming Today.
